Squarespace, Wix, and Format are easy to start on and hard to leave. Your portfolio, your archive, your years of documentation, all of it sits on a platform that raises its price whenever it likes and owns the door. Stop paying and it is gone.
The work
I move artist portfolios from proprietary platforms to self-hosted, open-source sites. Not a rebuild that approximates the old site, a migration that preserves it: the same layout, the same images at full resolution, the same URLs where possible, so links in old press and old catalogues keep working.
The result is a site you own outright, on hosting you choose, that you can edit yourself, with no subscription that can be revoked.

A multi-year archive of interdisciplinary art practice: roughly thirty project pages, several hundred images, and a decade of news posts, migrated from Squarespace to a self-hosted WordPress site with a static archival layer. The site is now owner-editable, subscription-free, and preserved at full image resolution.
